Echo Director of Technology wins at NBC Universal Hackathon

Recently, Echo’s lead developer and Director of Technology Andrew Kozlik, pulled an all-weekend coding sprint along with 170 techie friends; and his team won big! The push was part of NBCUniversal’s Hackathon held at the Portofino Hotel on Universal Studios’ property.

Teams were asked to build entertainment-based products in only 24 hours for NBCUniversal properties such as Universal Studios theme parks, Telemundo or Golf Channel.  Andrew’s team came up with a concept that incorporated iBeacons and a unique way to scare attendees of the popular Universal Studios’ October event Halloween Horror Nights.

The team, Malignant Monsters, went on to win in the Creative Category plus a $1,500 prize.
