Echo’s Andrew Kozlik interviewed by myFox35 about the app Manything

Recently, Echo’s Andrew Kozlik was interviewed by Tom Johnson of myFox35 about the app Manything that turns your old smart devices into a security system.

We’ve all got a couple of old devices laying around, such as an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. So, rather than them collecting dust, why not put them to good use.
The app simply uses the camera on the specified device to see what’s going on. For example, Kozlik can use an iPhone 3gs as the camera and then view a live stream on his iPad. The old iPhone can be set up to detect motion, take still photographs, and provide video recording along with cloud storage. This allows users to review previous footage, as well as see the live stream.

Don’t use I devices? No problem, Android has their own version called Salient Eye which is available free from the Google Play store.

“This has lowered the barrier of entry, making access to these features easier and cheaper…It gives you peace of mind,” stated Kozlik regarding this new mobile application.
So what are we waiting for?! Let’s go spy on our pet dogs–or rather, put some low cost/free security in our homes.
