iOS 9 to Feature Support for Force Touch

According to a new report from 9to5Mac, iOS 9 will incorporate support for Force Touch, a new feature that was introduced with the Apple Watch and new MacBook. The new technology allows users to control primary and secondary actions based on pressure. Think of it like right-clicking on a Mac.

Dictionary lookup for words, link previews and map views for addresses are a few features that are already available on the new MacBooks thanks to Force Touch. These are just a few examples of some of the many useful features that will be extended to newer Apple mobile devices, including the iPhone 6’s successor expected to be released this fall.

Force Touch is just one of the several new marquee features highlighted by 9t05Mac’s report. Others include an updated keyboard with several new features, as well as an enhanced iMessage.
